Mr. Yan Shupeng, Miss Zhang Yi, and Mr. Zhou Hantao, three undergraduate research assistants of our lab, obtain their B.S. degrees this summer. Shupeng and Yi will stay at PKU for graduate school, whereas Hantao will be a graduate student of Univ. Mass. at Amherst pursing his Ph.D. at the department of polymer science and engineering. We wish them all successful in the future.

Jingsong developed a S-Sn Lewis pair for the ROP of NCA, which can afford ultrahigh molecular weight polypeptides with well-define end group functionality, allowing facile bioconjugation. This is his second paper in 2018. Let’s expect more coming soon.

The Lu group attended the 2018 Taishan Academic Forum at Qingdao University of Science and Technology, a highly focused meeting on advanced and sustainable biopolymers. We enjoyed the scientific discussion, as well as the beach, and beer.

Jingsong’s latest work on pH and salt dual-responsive ionic helical polypeptides was accepted in the ACS journal Biomacromolecules. The paper will appear as an invited article in the Biomacromolecules Asian Special Issue. Congratulations to Jingsong and all coauthors.
