• Develop and advance analysis and imaging methods, including single molecule liquid-phase electron microscopy, optical imaging, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic spectroscopy analysis, microfluidic chips, and in-situ correlation methods to reveal hidden nanoscale dynamics in liquid environments that are of scientific and technological relevance. We are interested in understanding the emergent dynamics and mechanisms of non-equilibrium chemical systems with a special emphasis on those consume energy to perform work. Endeavors are devised to elucidate the role of underlying elemental steps, including chemical reactions, self-assembling process, DNA/protein, and macromolecular interactions, and to correlate their time-dependent structure-function properties, for better programmability and control from the mesoscopic to the molecular level.
