Xing Chen

Investigator, Department of Chemical Biology, College of Chemistry, Peking University

Investigator, Synthetic and Functional Biomolecules Center (SFBC)

Investigator, Peking-Tsinghua Center for Life Sciences.

Education and Research Background

Dr. Xing Chen was born in October 1980. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Tsinghua University in 2002. Dr. Chen then obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of California, Berkeley in 2007, where his research focused on chemical biology and bionanotechnology. After completing postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School in the field of structural biology and immunology, he joined the Peking University faculty in September, 2010. Some of his awards include: DuPont Young Professor Award (2013), SCOPUS Young Researcher Award (2012).

Research Direction and Achievements

The Chen Group studies glycosylation in protein quality control and immunology. We use the techniques of chemistry, biology, and nanoscience as tools to study and manipulate glycosylation in living systems. Another research direction in our lab focuses on elucidating the spatiotemporal regulation of cell signaling. Much of our research takes a highly interdisciplinary approach to tackle important questions related to human health and disease.
